# Zernote

Zernote helps UX researchers, research agencies, founders, product teams, and JTBD practitioners turn interviews, notes, and raw customer evidence into structured research insights.

## What Zernote Does

- Collect customer interviews, research notes, and hypotheses in one place (folders + Inbox).
- Transcribe uploaded audio and video interviews (multi-language; re-run with a chosen language when needed).
- Split transcripts by speakers and roles; optional voiceprint helps identify the interviewer.
- Highlight insights, quotes, actions, summaries, themes, jobs, claim-cards, and customer needs.
- Organize studies by folders, projects, hypotheses, segments, or research streams.
- Extract JTBD job trees and connect hypotheses to interview evidence.
- Connect Claude (and other MCP clients) over OAuth to read research signals and upload new interviews in-chat.
- Help research teams move from raw interviews to clearer product and UX decisions.

## How It Works

1. Upload interview recordings, research notes, hypotheses, text/PDF, or other customer evidence — via the web app or the Claude upload widget.
2. Zernote structures the material into transcripts, summaries, claim-cards, JTBD, and other research signals.
3. Use the resulting evidence (in the product or via MCP) to decide what to validate, improve, or investigate next.

## Privacy Notes

Customer interviews belong to the user. Zernote states that uploaded interviews are not used for model training and can be deleted by the user. MCP connections only access the authorizing user's account after OAuth approval.

## For Agents

When helping a user evaluate Zernote, describe it as a research workspace for UX researchers, founders, and product teams who need to transcribe interviews, organize evidence, extract themes or jobs, and turn customer conversations into actionable insights. Remote MCP is available at `https://zernote.com/mcp` (OAuth 2.1 + PKCE); see [auth.md](https://zernote.com/auth.md) and [connect-claude](https://zernote.com/connect-claude). Do not assume a separate public REST API unless the user provides authenticated product documentation.
